249 Million Loan Guaranteed By Export Credit Agencies

UK and Poland partner to support solar power project

$249 million loan guaranteed by export credit agencies

Deal will create jobs in UK's renewable-energy sector

The UK and Polish governments have guaranteed a £249 million loan to support the construction of a major solar power project in Turkey. The loan, which was provided by UK Export Finance (UKEF) and its Polish counterpart KUKE, will help to finance the construction of a 100MW solar power plant in the southern Turkish province of Adana. The project is expected to create up to 500 jobs in the UK's renewable-energy sector.

The UK government has said that the loan is a "landmark collaboration" between the UK and Poland. It is the first time that UKEF and KUKE have jointly guaranteed a loan for a renewable energy project. The deal is also a significant step forward in the UK's efforts to support the global transition to a low-carbon economy.

The solar power project is expected to be completed in 2023. It will generate enough electricity to power up to 100,000 homes. The project is also expected to reduce Turkey's reliance on fossil fuels and help to combat climate change.
